Follow our Journey!
Welcome to Teddy Bear Club Childcare Center, located on the ground floor of 3064 Buhre Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461. We are so excited to have this space and are very thankful to have you come along with us on our journey in making this the child care center of our dreams! Come back periodically for more pictures and updates!
We will be adding an extra bathroom to our center (those two doors lead to two private restrooms) because we want your kids and our staff alike to have ample space and feel comfortable at TBC. Our aim is to make Teddy Bear Club feel like a family, and we do not want any family members fighting over bathroom privileges!
We have four exits, including this emergency exit. Our number one priority is your child's safety, so fire drills and other emergency drills will be created and practiced regularly to insure that every child and staff member is aware and prepared for any situation.
Teddy Bear Childcare Center will have two large classrooms and an indoor play space for kids to be kids! TBC is going to be BIG, but despite its size, every child will be treated as an individual and as a part of our family.
The neighborhood is teeming with excitement and curiosity about our upcoming childcare center, but we have decided to keep a low profile throughout the construction process. Luckily, you get a front row seat to all the action! Stick around for more updates!
A Family Affair
Our teddy bear is always excited to come to "the business", run around and help us however he can. It is so wonderful to get the little man involved and show him what hard work and dedication can do!
Getting the "Okay" from the Boss
Miss Leslie is very specific in her vision of the space, its impact, its curriculum, etc. and so we make sure that all major decisions are run by and approved by boss lady.
Awnings are Up!
If you see bright green on the corner of Buhre and Jarvis, that would be us! We are so pleased to have these up!
These graphics are our trademark. "Play. Create. Learn." is what we believe and these windows are a constant reminder to us to always put our best foot forward and stay true to our philosophy and goals.
Play. Create. Learn.
This slogan is very dear to our hearts here at Teddy Bear Club. We believe that children learn best when they are in a loving and safe environment that encourages them to play and express themselves.
This Saturday, Teddy Bear Club was allowed to join the Merchants Association of Pelham Bay's annual tree lighting ceremony. We are so glad to have been part of such a wonderful event. We hope to continue to cater to our community as best as we can through our childcare services and community enrichment events similar to this one.
Day one of construction... complete! We are extremely excited to be working with such a wonderful team and we cannot wait to see our blueprint come to life!
"Let Me Get a Piece of this Action"
Our teddy bear, Joshua is happy to be a part of this process. Whenever he sees someone going to the business, he always asks if he can tag along.
"Iron Man Pose"
We love letting Josh get involved in every step, so long as it is safe and appropriate. We hope that becoming familiar with this process will instill confidence in him and the belief that he can achieve any of his goals and dreams, no matter how big or how challenging.
Watching our space change day by day has been the most gratifying experience. We cannot wait to see the finished product!
The Green Classroom
This skeletal image will soon be one of the classrooms, filled with books, toys, children and opportunities for learning, growth and fun!
This will be Miss Leslie's office. And that hole in the wall? Well, the official reason is to have a window for Miss Leslie to look out of and supervise. The unofficial reason is for Miss Angie to make faces at Miss Leslie through.
We are very happy with the team we have hired to do construction, and Joshua is, too! Now every time Joshua walks in on the guys working, the whole team says, "Hey, it's Josh!"
Joshua has a pretend tool box at home, so he has pretty much mastered the art of construction.
Remember that skeletal wall we had a few days ago? Well, no more! This place is really coming together.
A Blueprint Come True!
This is such a far cry from the pictures we took back in July. This space changes everyday and looks more and more like a dream come true.
The Brown Classroom
This will soon be classroom number two, fully equipped with nourishment station, closet space, various educational sections, a couple of dedicated educators, and more!
